Miami on a shoestring
Miami is among the most visited tourist destinations and has everything that one might want for a nice holiday. Once you have checked the available Miami apartments, the visitor should book one and then find out how not to spend a fortune while enjoying oneself. The first thing that one has to remember is to avoid the peak tourist seasons like the spring break or Christmas time, for example. At that period of the year the restaurants are crowded and so are the attractions. Another thing to keep in mind is to avoid the hurricane season, which is in the period August – October. The best periods for a visit are in the middle of the winter season and at late spring. Once here, you should keep in mind that there are many ways that you can have great time, without spending a fortune.
In case that you are on a budget, an important thing to arrange is where to eat. There are certain places that serve the so called specials for early birds that come with fixed prices. Other places to eat are the shopping centers that come will bagel shops, serving lunch at modest price. Also important to arrange is how you will get around the city of Miami. Of course, it all depends where your Miami apartment will be. In case that you plan to head to the beach and the local attractions, then you can use the public transport. There are however many attractions away from Miami center, for which you will need to rent a car. The rates for the car rental are reasonable here, so this should not be an issue.
Art Deco District
Now, the places that you can visit and which do not require to spend a fortune include the Art Deco district, the area Little Havana with its nice restaurants, the Everglades National Park, as well as the great variety of beaches. The Miami beaches are many and are all offering fantastic opportunities for relaxation and fun. A good advice here is to avoid the crowds and search for pleasant and peaceful beach zones, where to find real relaxation. In case that you decide to visit the National Park Everglades, then you will find yourself in an area of tropical jungles and prairies and will most probably see some endangered species as well. Other great ways to spend your time while in Miami, without spending a lot of money, include a visit at the zoo, where one could see a great variety of rare animals. Good to know is that the animals here are without cages and are placed in different groups.

Little Havana
If you are into the quiet hobbies, then you can always go fishing, as Miami is a real paradise for the fishermen. It has great freshwater and saltwater spots and is free for the children. There are also free fishing weekends, when fishing is free for everyone. Pleasant walking is possible along the South Beach area. Other cheap adventures are available at the two theme parks Fairchild Tropic Botanical Garden and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
